My name is Abebech Åkvist
– But feel free to call me Abbi.
I grew up in Ethiopia under slave-like conditions as an unpaid maid and was often subjected to assault!
As a fifteen year old I was adopted to Sweden. But I returned after twenty years to help poor women and children.
Today I run Family Mercy House in Addis Ababa.
Of own experience; “every child has the right to grow up with her mother”.
Today I do everything I can to keep families together.
Would you like to help?
